Yandex Mail SMTP and IMAP Settings for Cold Email
Yandex Mail server settings for connecting a mailbox over SMTP/IMAP, app passwords, and Yandex’s published recipient limits.
Yandex Mail uses smtp.yandex.com (port 465 with SSL) for sending and imap.yandex.com (port 993, SSL) for receiving, and external apps must sign in with an app password created in Yandex ID. Yandex publishes a limit of 300 recipients per email sent over SMTP and says limits can be lowered when its anti-spam system detects mass mailing of similar messages, so keep cold outreach volume modest.
Server settings
These values come from Yandex’s public help pages for mail clients.
- SMTP: smtp.yandex.com, port 465 with SSL (Yandex also lists port 587)
- IMAP: imap.yandex.com, port 993 with SSL
- Username: your full Yandex Mail address
- Password: an app password created in Yandex ID, not your normal password
Create an app password
Yandex requires an app password for third-party mail clients. Create one in Yandex ID for mail access, then use it in the SMTP and IMAP fields. Revoking it later disconnects only that app.
What Yandex publishes about limits
Yandex’s help page on sending many messages lists up to 1,000 recipients per email from the web or mobile app and up to 300 per email sent from a mail client or over SMTP. It also says limits can be lowered if its anti-spam system notices mass mailing of similar messages, templates, advertising or commercial offers.
For mailing lists, Yandex requires DKIM, SPF and a List-Unsubscribe header and may treat non-compliant messages as spam. For cold outreach, send individually addressed messages at a steady, low daily volume.
