Zoho Mail SMTP and IMAP Settings for Cold Email
Zoho Mail server settings for connecting a mailbox over SMTP/IMAP, plus what Zoho’s published sending policy means for cold outreach.

Zoho organization mailboxes use smtppro.zoho.com (SSL 465 or TLS 587) for sending and imappro.zoho.com (SSL 993) for receiving; personal Zoho accounts use smtp.zoho.com and imap.zoho.com. IMAP access must be enabled in Zoho settings, and accounts with two-factor authentication need an application-specific password. Zoho describes its outgoing limits as dynamic and states that bulk or burst sending is not permitted under its business usage policy, so keep volume low and steady.
Server settings
These values come from Zoho’s public help pages. Zoho also shows the exact servers for your account and data center under Settings, so check there if a connection fails.
- Organization (custom domain) SMTP: smtppro.zoho.com, port 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)
- Organization IMAP: imappro.zoho.com, port 993 (SSL)
- Personal (@zohomail.com) SMTP: smtp.zoho.com, port 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)
- Personal IMAP: imap.zoho.com, port 993 (SSL)
- Username: the full email address; the From address must match the account or one of its aliases
Before you connect
Zoho requires IMAP access to be switched on before an external app can read the mailbox: Settings → Mail Accounts → select the address → enable IMAP Access.
- Enable IMAP Access in Zoho Mail settings.
- If two-factor authentication is on, create an application-specific password and use it instead of your normal password.
- Publish SPF, DKIM and DMARC for the sending domain before any campaign.
What Zoho publishes about sending limits
Zoho’s rates-and-limits page describes outgoing limits as dynamic, based on sender reputation, recipient engagement and contact quality, and lists a range of 50–500 emails per hour. It also lists a per-email recipient cap of 100 for free accounts and 150 for paid accounts (To, Cc and Bcc combined). After a limit is reached, sending can be blocked for up to an hour.
Zoho states that bulk or burst sending is not permitted under its business usage policy. Treat a Zoho mailbox as a low-volume, one-to-one sender: small daily limits, steady pacing and no attempt to work around a restriction.
Connecting Zoho to MailQV
Connect the mailbox through MailQV’s SMTP/IMAP option with the settings above. Set a conservative daily limit on the mailbox; MailQV keeps that limit per mailbox and spreads campaign sends across the mailboxes you select.
